Phase III - Stealth Is.

Reality portal is a new movie by some kid. We’re not putting his name on here because he doesn’t deserve any more press or props than he’s getting already. Our first Phase II review was supposed to be something we really liked but it’s gonna have to wait while we play haters.

The graphics and editing are bad, they film things which should be image cuts - computer screens, magazine articles, book covers, etc, they scroll flashy pastel letters, they have a horrible soundtrack which attempts to combine folk music and bad club/house shite that shoulda been killed dead in the 90’s (i.e. the dark age of electronic music).

So there’s lots of hype around this because of the producers guerrilla net marketing and the names he’s managed to get attached to it. It’s the number of names really, lots of interviews, here is one of it’s inherent downfalls - it’s the youtube style, flash-speed, short lived attention span meme embodied. Quick bad videos in a 120 minute sequence in this case. It’s even got the two girls dancing home video shots. Oh and the kids tripping vids too. They also must think 60’s bad neon color video editing psychedlica is cool for some reason, their graphics are just awful in that regard.

So what’s the content of the badly encoded grainy digital video? Drugs and Politics - both at a very base level understanding. Sure Hoffman somehow makes a cameo (and apparently Nina Hagen’s still somehow cute too) but it seems largely composed of bad candy kids dancing and burntout stoner buddies engaging in drug talk and then falling into the trap of talking shit about their government figurehead scapegoats. The combination of these two elements begs some questions too - Does it hurt the truth and reform movements public appearance to be associated with this? Probably, but pot smoking 16 year olds might manage to get a small hint at the reasons behind their discontent and nihilism with their daily reality. Still though, this doesn’t cut it, neither of the memes represented in this movie live up to the severity and depth of understanding dictated by the current playing field of semi-objective reality. I’m sure some people out there will disagree with this opinion, I’d argue that’s because we’ve been trained to accept mediocrity. DIY media can be great, but this film is beyond 6 years too late for tackling subject matters that have delved into and addressed better in a number of other places with less ego-centric rave kids’ noise cluttering shit up. This was a painful watch. Read some shit if you want to expand the horizons of your understanding of reality.

Key64’s Review of Donald Tyson’s Necronomicon Tarot Kit. Posting this link so you can check out their impression of it. We recently purchased this and have been largely pleased with it. The only disappointing element we have found in it is how it can often revert back to feeling like you’re working with a traditional tarot with a grim aesthetic to boot. Despite this not being some unique tool with which you can invoke the elder gods, we felt it cool enough to draw your attention to this review. Key64 also keeps it on lockdown with many other cool articles/review/interviews and more.
